PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main intention  of this project is to develop a PC-based communication system to transmitdata to anindividual or multiple users in an officeusing  RFtechnology.  This system is connected to the computers in order to progress the information between the users by allowing the conversation overhyper terminal.

Communication is essential between the employees in offices for sending and receiving key information. Nowadays,in many offices,for sending a messageto a particular employee or a group of employeesanintermediate person is needed. There might be a possibility ofmisinterpretation of the message, and sometimes, thetime may be prolonged.This system is enhanced to progress the informationbetween employers without human interventionby using wireless technology.

The proposed system consists of two blocks: transmitter and receiver block.Both use a microcontroller of the 8051 family and a rectified-power supply. This project consists of an RF transmitter and a receiver module for communication.

The RF transmitter is connected to the transmitter end with the help of the TX pin.This system is connected to the PC with a  serial cableand a level shifter.  The PC has a GUI mode foran operator to perform interactive actions.The RF receiver is connected to the receiver end with thehelp of the RX pin and the buzzer is connected to the microcontroller for indication purpose. A 16*2 LCD display is interfaced to the microcontroller for displaying the information.

Each employ has one transmission module and areceiver module in the office for sending and receiving the information. If any employer wants to convey some message to another employer, this system allows to send the information through ahyperterminalatthe transmitting end connected to the PC, which is received by the receiver end with a buzzing sound.The information  is then sent to the microcontroller for displaying the message on the LCD display.

This project in future can be enhanced, by adding a two-way communication feature between the employer and theemployee(s).

NOTE: The project works only on operating system having hyper terminal (E.g. window XP). The computer must have a RS-232 serial port.
