PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 The main concept of this project is to implement a security system with user changeable password that allows only an authorized person to change the password, and denies unauthorized persons while they try to enter wrong passwords.

Nowadays, security system is a better need for every organization or homes. The concern is for the physical propertiesas well as for the intellectual properties if it is either a case of any organization or home. This proposed system provides a user-friendly security for organizations and homes. This system is password based, and allows only authorized person to access it with a secured password. It also has the provision for changing the password'n' number of times.

This project uses a microcontroller of the 8051 family along with a rectified power supply. Here a matrix keypad is interfaced to the microcontroller for entering password.An EEPROM device is connected to the microcontroller for storing and processing the password many times.A relay is controlled by a relay driver IC, whichis connected to the microcontroller to activate the relay coils. Two lamps are connected to the relay contacts instead of a doorfor indication purpose.

If any one enters the password from the keypad, the microcontroller compares this password with the stored one. If it matches with the stored password, then the lamp switches on,instead of doorbeing opened, as an indication. Any wrong attempt to open the door (by entering a wrong password), prompts an alert signal to get actuated, which is indicated by another lamp.The password is stored in an EEROM and that password can be changed any time unlike a fixed one which is burnt permanently in the microcontroller.

This project in future can be implemented by interfacingit with a GSM modemso that when a wrong password is entered, an alert SMS will be sent to the concerned authority.
