PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main aim of this project is to enable a secure communication with a secret code by using RF technology. A secret code is entered from a computer keyboard, which is connected to the transmitting end. The same code must be required to retrieve the message at the receiver end.Therefore, this process ensures complete security.

The proposed system consists of two blocks: a transmitter and a receiver block; both use a microcontroller of the 8051 family, and a rectifier for power supply. This project consists of an RF module for communication.

An RF transmitter module is connected to the transmitter unit with the help of a TX pin. A keyboard is interfaced to the microcontroller for acquiring message. An RF receiver is connected to the receiver end with the help of an RX pin. Push buttons are connected to the microcontroller to take the inputs from the user. A 16*2 LCD is interfaced to the microcontroller for displaying the information.

Two push-button switches are connected to the circuit for sending data after encryption and for decryption after receiving the data. When the secrete code is entered through the keyboard at the transmitting end, the data is encrypted and is sent after pressing the push-button switches via transmitter. This message is received by the receiver and is processed by the microcontroller. It is then decrypted by the push button switch to display it on the LCD.

This project in future can be enhanced by adding a feature of bidirectional communication, which also invloves incorporating encryption and decryption of the message for a higher degree of security.

Note: Computer keyboard is not supplied with the kit.

A:  A PS/2 keyboard can be used directly, while a USB type keyboard can be used through a USB to PS/2 converter.
