PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of this project is to control AC power to load remotely with altering voltages applied to this system using Android application devices. The remote operation is achieved by any smart phone, tablet with Android OS devices.

The proposed system uses a microcontroller of the 8051 family and a rectifier power supply. In this system, the lamp is controlled by back-to-back thyristers which are connected to the microcontroller with help of opto-isolator. The isolator is used for isolating the loads from the microcontroller control section. In this system, the op-amp used as a comparator for finding zero crossing of the voltages. A Bluetooth device is interfaced to the microcontroller for communication.

The AC power is controlled by  triggering Pulses from the microcontroller as per the program. The microcontroller receives the control signal from the Androd application and delivers the desired output to switch thyristers to control the electrical loads.

The future scope of the project can be implemented by using direct 230 volt supply instead of 12 volt AC to the bridge rectifier for achieving higher-voltage control.
