PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project is designed to control the railway level crossing gate by using  an Android application device of a station master through the commands entered from the touch pad of the device to open or close the railway level crossing gate.

Railway safety is the most crucial aspect of railways all over the world. This is the cheapest mode of transportation and, therefore, accidents are likely to happen due to carelessness manual operations. The proposed system is enhanced to prevent accidents at unmanned level crossings and to provide much-needed safety.

The proposed system uses a family of 8051 microcontroller and a rectified power supply. In this project, a Bluetooth device is interfaced to the microcontroller with the help of Rx and Tx pins in order to achieve remote operation. The motor is connected to the microcontroller with the help of a driver IC for opening and closing the railway level crossing gate.

A 16*2 LCD is connected to the microcontroller for displaying the predefined information.

When the station master or the driver of a train sends a command from the Android application through a Bluetooth onto the mobile phone through the Bluetooth device attached to this system, then the microcontroller receives these signals, which in turn drives the motor-driver IC to operate the motor.

A:  Go to Google Play in your Android mobile search for Blue control App, select and install.

A:  Blue control can be connected through a Bluetooth device using Bluetooth connection. For detailed explanation, refer the operation procedure given in the kit.

A:  Bluetooth supports distance till 50 feet
