PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main intention of this project is to design a robot for large scale industries, which is capable of picking up heavy objects and placing it in the desired location, with remote control by using RF technology.

An RF transmitter is connected to the transmitter end with the help of an encoder device. A matrix keypad is connected to the microcontroller as input switch. Commands are sent by the matrix keypad to the receiver to control the movement of the robot in forward, backward left or in right directions.

An RF receiver is connected to the receiver end with the help of a decoder device. The four motors are interfaced to the microcontroller through a motor-driver IC wherein two motors are used for arm and gripper movement and the other two are used for changing the directions of the vehicle. This system works with an 8051 family microcontroller and uses a battery for power supply.

The robot is controlled by an RF remote wherein the commands are sent by the transmitter, and based on these commands the receiver controls the directions of the robot.The main advantage of this robot is its soft-catching arm, which is designed to avoid extra pressure on the suspected object for safety reasons.

The scope of this project in future can be implemented by interfacing it with a wireless camera so that a user can watch the operation of the arm and gripper, remotely.

A:  A 40 pin microcontroller from 8051 family is used in this project.
Q:  What is the battery rating?
A:  Here 2 rechargeable batteries, each with 6V rating are used for receiver and 4 pencil cell batteries, each with 1.5V rating are used for transmitter.
Q:  What is the RPM of robot motors?
A:  45RPM is the RPM of robot motors.
Q:  How can I control the movement of robot?
A:  Using RF transmitter remote using keypad one can control the robot movement in left, right, forward, reverse directions: Arm-up, down, open and close
