PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main intention of this project is to sense obstacles through an IR sensor and to give an indication by activating some load. This system is very helpful for industries for sensing the movement of objects on a conveyor belt.

 The proposed system uses an IR sensor circuit consisting of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver, which are placed exactly opposite to each other in such a way that whenever any object passes through them, the IR signals from the transmitter are blocked to reach the receiver. 

Thus, an interrupt will be generated by the receiver which is given to the 8051 microcontroller to further activate a relay to switch on the load.

The future scope of this project can be enhanced by using a counting arrangement with a display. This arrangement will be helpful in manufacturing industries wherein keeping a total count of production on record can be done.
