PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main intention of this project is to detect and destroy any object, ahead of ultrasonic transducer within a certain distance, by the ultrasonic waves. It is very useful for monitoring the security area such as wildlife shooting, surveillance security area, etc.

The ultrasonic obstacle sensor consists of a set of ultrasonic receiver and transmitter which operates at the same frequency. The transmitter can deliver 40 KHz ultrasonic sound while the receiver is designed to accept only 40 KHz sound waves.

This proposed system uses a microcontroller of the 8051 family and a rectified power supply. In this system, the ultrasonic sensor is interfaced to the microcontroller for detecting the obstacles ahead of it. A door gun (for demo) is attached to the microcontroller through a MOSFET for destroying the objects. The information is also displayed on a LCD display, which is connected to the microcontroller.

The ultrasonic sensor continuously transmits the ultrasonic rays. Whenever any object comes near the ultrasonic module, the ultrasonic rays get reflected back from the transmitter and are received by the ultrasonic receiver, and then are sent to the microcontroller. The microcontroller develops the output signal to switch the MOSFET. Hence, the door gun is activated for destroying the missile ahead of it. The LCD provides the display of presence and absence of the obstacle.

This project in future can be enhanced by interfacing a GSM modem to the project such that, when the object is detected, then the controller sends an SMS to the user.
