PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Fire Alarm System

The circuit is designed to develop a temperature control system using a thermistor. It is helpful to provide an indication on crossing a limit of temperature of an enclosed area.

Whenever temperature increases beyond a certain value, an LED (indicating a cooler) is switched on to bring the temperature to normal value. Switching ON of load is done automatically, so this system doesn’t require anyone to monitor the temperature. Negative coefficient thermistor is used along with an operational amplifier to actuate a relay (in place of the LED) in the event of temperature going out of range.

Thermistor is often used rather than other temperature sensors because they are of low cost. But most their resistance-versus-temperature characteristics are highly nonlinear and need correction for applications that require a linear response. A change in temperature will alter the input parameters to the NPN Transistor. The NPN delivers an output to glow the LED.

Further the project can be upgraded to using a digital temperature sensor instead of an analog one like the transistor. By doing so, we can increase the accuracy of the temperature control system.

Note: This DIY kit doesn't include soldering iron, multimeter, cutter and screwdriver as it is not required.

One solderless multipurpose breadboard and set of basic components will be provided for each of the 5-in-1 Solderless project kit. This 5-in-1 Solderless Project kit will be provided with additional 4 free circuits which can be built by additionally procuring very few components. Thus, students can explore and develop total 5 projects at the cost of 1 project kit only.

All the engineering, diploma and other technical students from first year to final year can get hands on experience in designing and developing various electronics projects with these 5-in-1 solder less project kits. Completely assembled project is available in image format besides real time working in audio visuals to help students to complete one DIY kit with ease and then try engineering skills to attempt the other free circuits provided as no additional components are required. With this solderless breadboard approach none of the component is soldered, hence all the components can be used again and again to try such multiple circuits.
