PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Quiz competitions are held everywhere in schools colleges and even in offices and often we see them in televisions as well. Whenever a quiz competition is held, the winner is selected based on the right answer in shortest possible timing. The timing criteria plays a major role as the result relies on it. This project is a microcontroller based quiz monitoring system, which is designed for eight contestants.

The controller used in this project is from 8051 family wherein an LCD 16X2 is used to display the results. There are eight push buttons provided for eight contestants to participate in the quiz.

This system can detect and record fastest responding contestant among all the contestants. This project not only monitors the fastest finger press, but also displays the time that has been taken by the contestant to answer.

The microcontroller records the contestants hit by push buttons which are connected to the port pins that evokes an inbuilt timer in it to start counting the time and finally displaying the time  every contestant had taken while answering.

The project can be further extended by integrating a Bluetooth Technology where contestants can answer wirelessly using a GUI based touch Screen operation.
