PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project is designed to control a TV automatically based on the input video signal availability using a relay. If the video signal is not available on the TV screen, then this system switches off the TV, automatically  using a relay mechanism. Thus, you can save electrical energy  and increase the life time of your television set.

 The proposed system is built with a relay that is used to operate the load. In this project, an amplifier circuit is used for allowing the video signals from the input. If this circuit gets the video signal, then it turns ON the relay to switch ON the load.

If the video signal is not available, then the load is turned off by the relay. Hence, this system saves the power without human intervention. In this project, a lamp is used for indication purpose.

A:  The concept is to switch on the load at zero crossing point using opto coupler and thyristor. The signals can be observed on any Digital Storage Oscilloscope.
